Cathryn Harbor, MD

Cathryn Harbor, MD

Director of Education

Dr. Cathryn Harbor has been practicing medicine for 25 years and specializes in treating patients with chronic disease. She developed an interest in functional medicine as she began to see that core imbalances are the underlying cause of most chronic disease. Her treatment approach to restore balance is most often accomplished through education and the use of exercise, diet and stress reduction. She believes that there is an opportunity in healthcare to empower patients with information in various formats, so that they understand their current state of health and develop a healthy view of what can be achieved.

Dr. Harbor received her Family Practice certification in 1995 and certification from the American Board of Holistic Medicine in 2000. She has completed coursework in functional medicine from the Institute of Functional Medicine and received physician training from the International Lyme Disease Association Education Foundation.

Dr. Harbor graduated with a BA from Oberlin College and received her Doctor of Medicine from the University of North Carolina. She resides in Lexington, VA.

Matthew Pfeiffer

Matthew Pfeiffer

Director of Operations

Matthew brings over 10 years’ experience in health care management to LeadHealth as Director of Operations. In this role, he oversees the success of LeadHealth’s on-site centers along with providing input into the growth and direction of the nation’s first telemedicine program of Functional Medicine providers.

After attending Virginia Commonwealth University, Matthew spent four years in the United States Navy, where he managed the administrative offices for the Weapons Department at Naval Submarine Base, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Thereafter, he began his career in sales and marketing, utilizing both his abilities to create authentic relationships with clients and his creative talents in developing marketing content. Over the years, Matthew’s expertise grew to include brand development, marketing strategy, and digital marketing.

In 2001, Matthew undertook his first role in a health care firm – managing sales and marketing for a company helping families with children diagnosed with ADD/ADHD. In time, his role changed to overseeing the company’s research study – recruiting families, conducting training, and overseeing daily operations. This move was especially rewarding, as it allowed Matthew to work closely with physicians and patients – and to see firsthand the beneficial results of using non-traditional therapies.

Recently, Matthew was Membership Director for Executive Health Group, one of the leading concierge medical practices in the country, where he oversaw the patient experience and daily operations of the practice.

Matthew brings a diverse range of skillsets to LeadHealth, foremost of which is that of developing and maintaining close partnerships with clients and physicians. He has proven success in practice management, strategic planning, market intelligence and in establishing customer relationship building and retention programs.
